02 / Platform reference
START WITH THE PLATFORM. SHELL-CRAFT BUILDS THE BODY AROUND IT.
Different humanoid architectures require different exterior solutions. Select a platform to explore how Shell-Craft can transform exposed robotics into an intelligent, tactile and highly considered physical body.
MACHINE → STRUCTURE → SENSING → SURFACE
Shell-Craft studies an adaptable exterior technology architecture around independent humanoid platform references, subject to project-specific assessment and engineering review.
Independent concept and design studies only. Third-party platform entries link to manufacturer reference pages; inclusion does not constitute OEM authorization, compatibility, endorsement, affiliation, approval, or confirmed fitment.

03Shell-Craft system
A physical architecture that moves from the original machine outward, introducing structure, distributed sensing, perception, material and identity with intentional restraint. The intelligence layer translates physical interaction into spatially meaningful information for robot systems.

05Material architecture
INTELLIGENCE HAS A MATERIAL.
A humanoid exterior should do more than cover the machine. Shell-Craft is developing an integrated body architecture designed to combine advanced engineered textiles, distributed sensing, stretchable electronics, conductive structures and compliant additive-manufactured geometries into one responsive physical interface.

MACHINE
The human-contact surface.
A soft, protective engineered exterior designed around tactile quality, controlled stretch, breathability and physical interaction.
Distributed physical perception.
Flexible sensing architecture designed to perceive pressure, shear, temperature, proximity and strain across the body.
Stretchable connectivity.
A compliant electronic network designed to carry signals through a moving body without relying on conventional rigid circuitry across high-strain areas.
Intelligence integrated into textile.
Engineered textile structures exploring conductive yarns and integrated pathways for distributed power, data and sensing connectivity.
Compliance between skin and machine.
Lightweight additive-manufactured structures designed to provide controlled deformation, load distribution, protection and mechanical integration with the humanoid platform beneath.
THE MACHINE BENEATH
Compact precision actuators, structural systems, power and computation remain the underlying humanoid platform. Shell-Craft engineers the intelligent body around it.
06Distributed sensing layer
Pressure. Shear. Temperature. Proximity. Strain.
A distributed sensing architecture designed to transform physical interaction into spatially meaningful information for the machine.
PHYSICAL INTELLIGENCE
Every interaction between a humanoid and its environment ultimately becomes physical — a hand holding an object, a shoulder passing a person, a robot working beside us or a machine entering the home. Shell-Craft is focused on the interface where machine intelligence becomes physical interaction.

09Digital design / fabrication
CAD geometry, additive fabrication, compliant-structure prototypes, material samples, surface finishing and fitment detail come together in a disciplined fabrication process.
10Applications
Exterior architecture that sits naturally within a calm, contemporary material world — designed to make robotic presence feel more considered.

11Commercial identity
A coherent fleet language establishes a more considered public presence while retaining individual material and finish variation.
SELF-AWARE BODY
An intelligent exterior should understand more than the world around it. It should also understand its own physical condition.
Shell-Craft is exploring modular body architecture capable of identifying localized contamination, damage or sensor degradation — supporting inspection, service and replacement of affected exterior modules.

THE INTELLIGENT BODY SENSES ITSELF.

13 / IP positioning
Shell-Craft is developing an intellectual-property portfolio around the integration of compliant exterior structures, distributed sensing, calibration and embodied perception for humanoid robotic platforms.
High-level technology domains only. Specific implementation methods remain confidential while the portfolio is in development.
13.5 / Who's building this
Shell-Craft is being developed by Lars Hypko and Marshall Millett at the intersection of advanced materials, physical design, sensing and humanoid robotics.
The company was founded around a simple observation: while enormous investment is transforming the intelligence, mechanics and mobility of humanoid robots, the physical interface between these machines and the human environment remains largely unresolved.
Shell-Craft is focused on building that missing layer.
14 / Independence & boundaries
Current Shell-Craft exterior programs are independently developed exterior architecture studies and do not alter the underlying robot’s certified safety systems, motors, controls or core electronics. All renderings, material studies and system diagrams on this site are development references, not validated production capability. Shell-Craft is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any robot manufacturer referenced here unless expressly stated. Physical fitment, availability, compatibility and commercial terms are determined through a project-specific engineering review.
15 / Strategic relationships
Shell-Craft is developing the exterior architecture that could allow increasingly capable humanoid machines to interact more naturally, safely and intelligently with human environments.
We are interested in strategic relationships with humanoid robotics manufacturers, sensor and advanced-material companies, research institutions, manufacturing partners and investors.
